KDOI Optimistic News

Page history last edited by Bob-RJ Burkhart 1 year, 4 months ago

Not only can a Virtual Team Tactics member page help the other members of your team know more about you and how to reach you, they'll definitely appreciate the ability to use this page as a "holding tank" for things they need you to do.

The most used portions of this page will probably be your task list (you'll be using this heavily), and the list of tasks that others would like you to work on (expect your teammates to use this extensively).

Remember, you can create your own customized version of any PBwiki template simply by tagging that page with the keyword "template".  From then on, any user of your wiki will be able to use your page template.

I am serious about the word "movement". Change is coming in many ways in this world but for those of us who have been waiting so long for education to take more than a small step forward, the time is now. Yes Podstock is about educational Podcasting but it is about so much more. It's about the music of web 2.0 and the freedom we all have to sing our own songs and for our kids to start garage bands of learning and expression. This is a cause, a shift and a reason to believe again. The bus door is open and the sound of music and optimism is coming from the inside. Come on in, your seat is waiting. MentorshipART of PEACEi> :: 1909 Kansas Eco-History (1959 - 2009)

CQ: If we knew then what we understand NOW about our legacy for the NEXT visitor …

what “digital campfire story” or memory would we SHARE with future thought leaders?

While I was a KU Undergrad attending Summer School in 1964 on Mount Oread,

I served as caretaker at the former Wind Hill Mansion of the first elected

Kansas Governor - Walter Roscoe Stubbs who left us this legacy:

The world of strife shut out, the world of love shut in.

The imperative need of this nation at all times

is the leadership of Uncommon Men or Women."

          --Herbert Hoover, August 10, 1954

I was advised by a TRUSTed Shawnee, KS "peer mentor"

to file for a DeSoto School District (USD232) Board seat ...

FYI - I completed the launch step on Tues-AM before meeting

with the Executive Director of KAN-ED in Topeka, KS

& catching the conclusion of KDHE's WRAPS 2005 Conference ...

Then … I renewed prior efforts look & listen to learn more about what matters

most as a “qualified candidate” for our district’s contested school board position …

The study of the elements of agriculture and domestic science should be stimulated;

regulations should be prescribed for the construction of schoolhouses,

with particular reference to sanitation and fire protection.

Fire-drills should be compulsory. A system of state inspection should be devised

so that the state superintendent could have closer supervision

of county superintendents and rural schools.

The county superintendent's office should be non-partisan.

To effect this, party nominations for that office should be abolished

and each qualified aspirant should run as an independent.

[1] A major slice of our property tax dollars are invested to help program

global brains to exercise sustainable "Future Thought Leadership" ...

[2]  I've been coaching & tutoring international "leadership learning communities"

as a KU B-School graduate since I started working with General Mills (1966)

[3] Enroute to our 2004 Monticello JoCo Township relocation during 2004,

I completed my Information (Decision) Science M.S. degree (1971)

from UH-Manoa ... rather than attending NPS at Monterey Bay, CA

Note-1:

Since 1982, I've actively recycled "lessons learned" as the US Navy's

CincPAC Fleet's "Sea Surveillance Officer" protecting global

sea lanes of communication (surface shipping) while supporting

US Coast Guard SAR & Apollo Mission capsule recovery crews!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[4] While stationed on Oahu ... my Eco-History "sense of place"

was based in the small community of Aiea, Hawaii overlooking

the USS Arizona Memorial  ... at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii ...

a sacred place dedicated to the wellbeing of future generations!

[5] It was a visible reminder to the FAILURE of our military academies

to integrate effective anticipatory thinking ( via foresight exercises )

into their Art of War degree-granting leadership learning curriculums.

[6] As an emerging "social capital re-investor" I discovered our special gifts

are best used sharing "community stewardship"  with others in need ...

Note-2:

My poster session role during Toronto Canada's upcoming

World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM 2005)

         recycles multiple lifelong "lessons learned"

I'll probably integrate CIM "sea stories" while exercising

my "free will" to become a more creative mindshifting force

as a global Eco-Futurist, "geoWIZard" & Ocean Keeper!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CQ: Having pioneered and then mentored others to help improve

both "CyberCrime Fighting" (& aversion) skills since 1988

I asked both my adult daughters what really mattered

to their generation's "Sustainable WellBeing" ...

        Ans: Multi-cultural "EarthKeeping That Matters"

& enables World Peace in their lifetimes ...

Note-3:

My global Bioneer adVenturing(cc) goals include the following ...

[A-1] to have ALL-WinWin FUN outdoors as an "Adult Lifelong Learner"

[B-2] to get to life's finish line with the MOST mutually-beneficial relationships

[C-3] to launch a sustainable Enviro-Learning Network (ELN)

that recycles distributed "blended visual learning" practices ...
